2024-25 school year: 12,644 students enrolled in Wichita Falls Independent School District

Wichita Falls Independent School District enrolled 12,644 students in the 2024-25 school year, a 1.7% decrease from 12,868 the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Among the student body, 51.9% were boys and 48.1% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among the students in Wichita Falls Independent School District was Hispanic, accounting for 40.6% of the student body.

The grade level with the highest enrollment was fourth grade, with 965 students enrolled that year, accounting for 7.6% of the total student body.

The district covers 22 schools, and has a central office in Wichita Falls.

Texas has the nation’s second-largest K-12 public school system, serving about 5.5 million students with a student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 15:1.
