James Frank, a Republican serving as the Texas State House representative for the 69th district since 2013, recently shared his views on civil discourse and government regulation of speech in a series of posts on social media.
On September 14, 2025, Frank posted a message supporting Texas A&M University: “Let’s GOOOOOO Ags!!! #txlege https://t.co/17Di0DY08U”.
The following day, he reflected on the importance of open debate in society. In his post dated September 15, 2025, Frank wrote: “The ability to engage in civil discourse is one of the cornerstones of Western civilization and modern society. For centuries, our progress has depended on people being able to challenge ideas, exchange perspectives, and debate the best path forward without fear of reprisal. The”.
On September 16, 2025, Frank addressed concerns about government involvement in defining hate speech. He stated: “This is scary. Who defines “hate speech”? The government should never do this regardless of who is in charge. #txlege https://t.co/C60Qnh2vBQ”.
Frank has represented the state’s 69th House district since replacing Lanham Lyne in 2013.
