James Frank, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 69th district since 2013, has recently voiced concerns about healthcare pricing and market structure in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On May 8, 2026, Frank stated, “The state has the authority and responsibility to ensure a level playing field for our constituents. Heathcare prices are not transparent, competitive or customer-centered. We can and must do better. #txlege https://t.co/qsE4eGPQNx”.

Continuing his commentary on May 10, Frank wrote, “We have the system that was designed. Improve the incentives and prices will drop. #txlege https://t.co/qdRO3yFd5B”.

Later that same day, he added, “Cuban nails it. We must have all 3 components of a functioning market for prices to fall: 1) Transparent prices 2) Robust competition 3) Customer engagement Without any part of this 3-legged stool, the market will fail patients. Most of healthcare has 0 of 3. #txlege https://t.co/ZcM4AeuRaH”.

Frank’s comments come amid ongoing debates in Texas over healthcare reform and transparency initiatives in pricing and service delivery. As a legislator who succeeded Lanham Lyne in the Texas State House in 2013, Frank has been an advocate for changes aimed at improving both access and affordability within the state’s healthcare system.
