Senator Brent Hagenbuch, a Republican representing Texas’s 30th Senate district since his election in 2025, shared updates on education initiatives and local planning efforts through several posts on February 5, 2026.
In one post, Hagenbuch announced the opening of the state’s voucher program for private or home-school education. On February 5, he wrote: “The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program, the state’s voucher program for students to fund their private or home-school education, opened for applications today!”
Later that day, Hagenbuch highlighted his participation in a regional planning meeting. He posted: “Yesterday I had spent time with leaders in Grayson County at the Grayson Co Metropolitan Planning Organization Meeting. Grayson is growing quickly and it’s important for us to meet on a regular basis to plan for the growth. I’m grateful to serve with these wonderful leaders!” (February 5).
He also discussed visiting Denison Independent School District during his time in Grayson County. In another tweet from February 5, Hagenbuch stated: “While in Grayson County yesterday, I took advantage of the opportunity to visit with Denison ISD! It’s always great to visit with professionals in education and discuss the importance of public schools. Thank you for your hospitality and welcoming me to Yellow Jacket country!”
Hagenbuch succeeded Drew Springer as state senator after winning election in 2025.
