Senator Brent Hagenbuch, a Republican representing Texas’s 30th Senate district, used his social media platform to provide updates on legislative activity during the state’s second special session in August 2025.
On August 19, Hagenbuch announced the passage of key flood relief measures. He wrote, “We’re back to work! 1st bill to pass this 2nd Special Session was SB5 by Sen @joanhuffman. This provides flood relief funding for the victims of the Hill Country floods. We also passed SB3 by Sen @TeamBettencourt supporting outdoor flood warning sirens. #txlege #floodrelief https://t.co/ymb54lr4bR”.
Later that night, he highlighted the productivity of the Senate session and his involvement in multiple bills: “We had a very busy and productive night. 13 bills passed the Texas Senate! I was an author on SB2, SB3, SB6, SB8, SB10, SB11, SB12, SB13, SB14, SB15, SB16 and a co-author on SB5. I look forward to working with my colleagues to accomplish more for Texas on Tuesday! #txlege https://t.co/dxBCoJfbUC” (August 19).
On August 20, Hagenbuch referenced progress on congressional redistricting efforts in Texas: “Congressional redistricting passed through the Senate during both special sessions. I am thankful for the support of @realDonaldTrump on this plan. As a co-author of this bill, I am proud to work with other conservative leaders in Texas to keep it moving forward. #txlege https://t.co/ciSfRmndvy”.
Hagenbuch assumed office in early 2025 after being elected to represent District 30 in the Texas State Senate; he succeeded Drew Springer as part of a new wave of legislators following that year’s elections.
