CENTRAL TEXAS COLLEGE: Options available for students unable to complete spring semester

College4

Central Texas College issued the following announcement on April 13

To assist our students who may find themselves unable to successfully complete their spring 2020 coursework, CTC has two options for students.

Withdrawal

The last day to withdraw (no refund) from a class will be extended to the Friday before Final Exam Week for classes beginning before March 23 that have not already ended or a grade has not been posted.

If you are using financial aid, veteran’s benefits or tuition assistance, contact those offices to determine how a "withdrawal" might impact your aid.

A ‘W’ grade will only apply to classes that started before March 23 and have not already ended or for which a grade has not been entered and apply to all CTC locations and course delivery methods such as online, online self-paced or face-to-face.

Incomplete Grade

With the sudden COVID-19 outbreak, our faculty worked tirelessly to transition all courses to an online format in one week. For those courses that require hands-on instruction (labs/clinicals/field experience), faculty created virtual labs as part of your online instruction, are teaching limited labs or will postpone the hands-on portion until campus re-opens.  If your hands-on labs are not available now, you should discuss the possibility of getting an "incomplete" (IP) grade with your instructors in the event our campus does not open until after the spring semester/term ends.  An "incomplete" grade is an extension of up to 110 days after the course ends in which you are allowed to complete your missing course work. The "incomplete" grade will be changed to a letter grade once you complete the missing coursework. For more information, please consult the CTC college catalog on our website. If you are using financial aid, veteran’s benefits or tuition assistance, contact those offices to determine how an "incomplete" grade might impact your aid.
