CITY OF SAGINAW: City Of Saginaw Operations Beginning May 4, 2020

Reopening

City of Saginaw issued the following announcement on  April 28

Out of an abundance of caution during this coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, Saginaw officials closed City facilities and public playground equipment to the public beginning March 20, 2020. During this time, a majority of City of Saginaw employees have been working at the facilities during the closure.

With the signing of the most recent Texas State Governor’s Executive Order on Monday, April 27, 2020, the following is the City of Saginaw’s plan for a gradual opening.

City Hall:

 The drive-through at City Hall will open back up on Monday, May 4, 2020. The lobby will remain closed. All residents are encouraged to pay their utility and court payments online at www.SaginawTx.org.

Police:

 IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY OR NEED TO REPORT A CRIME IN PROGRESS CALL 911. 

 If you come to the police station you may enter the front vestibule and will be contacted via intercom to determine how best to serve your need. 

 The Police Department will continue to be on-duty 24/7, available to respond to emergencies, and be patrolling our residential and business areas. 

 If you need to report an incident that has already occurred in the City of Saginaw, and no current threat to life, safety, or property exists, we have an on-line reporting system available at https://www.ci.saginaw.tx.us/151/Online-Reporting. 

 You may also call the non-emergency line to make a report: (817) 232-0311. 

 Police reports and records requests will be answered. You may request records at https://policereports.lexisnexis.com/, or by U.S. mail or email available on our website. The Police Department building is temporarily closed to the general public.

Fire:

 IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY OR NEED TO REPORT A CRIME IN PROGRESS CALL 911. 

 The Fire Department will continue to be on-duty 24/7, available to respond to emergencies.

Library:

 Beginning Thursday, May 7, the Library will begin curbside service. Please place items on hold online or by calling the Library at 817-230-0300, give us a few hours to collect them, and then pick them up at our front door. Please return any items to the book drop only (located on the east side of the building), starting next week. Curbside service will be available Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Recreation Center / Senior Center / Aquatics:

 The Rec Center, Senior Center, and Aquatics will remain closed until further notice. The Governor has still kept gyms closed and discouraged public gatherings and opening swimming pools. We will have to wait and see in a couple of weeks what further guidance comes. 

 All indoor and outdoor facility reservations will remain cancelled at least through May 18.

Parks:

 All City Park Playground Equipment and Restrooms are closed until further notice.

Public Works / Building Inspections / Code Enforcement:

 The Public Works office/facility are closed to the public. However, staff will be available via phone and email. If you have questions or need assistance please call 817-230-0500.  Building Inspections / Code Enforcement offices have moved to 301 S. Saginaw Blvd (Old Chamber of Commerce Building). They are open only allowing one customer in the building at a time.

Animal Services & Adoption Center:

 The Saginaw Animal Services and Adoption Center office will be open by appointment only. Customers / potential adopters should call 817-230-0460 to make an appointment.  Animal Service Officers will still be available and patrolling.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and hope to reopen our facilities for visitors as soon as we can do it safely.
