The City of Wichita Falls will hold a public hearing on the 2020 tax rate.
According to a press release, the city will discuss a no-new-revenue tax rate on Sept. 1 at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be at 1300 Seventh St.
The 2020 budget would increase "the same amount of property tax revenue for City of Wichita Falls from the same properties in both the 2019 tax year and the 2020 tax year," the city said.
If voters approve the increase of the tax rate, it would be the highest the city has increased the tax rate without an election for voter approval. It is also higher than the no-new-revenue tax rate.
More information on the tax increase can be found online.
