There were 147 students enrolled in Prairie Valley ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 3.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 54.4% of them were girls, and 45.6% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 81.6% of the Prairie Valley ISD total enrollment.

Prairie Valley ISD roughly covers schools within Montague County with its main office in Nocona.

Among the two schools in Prairie Valley ISD, Prairie Valley High School recorded the highest enrollment of 83 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
