There were 620 students enrolled in Seymour ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 54% of them were boys, and 46% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 69.2% of the Seymour ISD total enrollment.

Seymour ISD roughly covers schools within Baylor County with its main office in Seymour.

Among the three schools in Seymour ISD, Seymour Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 272 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
