There were 1,078 students enrolled in Jacksboro ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 55.5% of them were boys, and 44.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 62.8% of the Jacksboro ISD total enrollment.

Jacksboro ISD roughly covers schools within Jack County with its main office in Jacksboro.

Among the three schools in Jacksboro ISD, Jacksboro Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 506 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
