Petrolia CISD Education: 463 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 463 students enrolled in Petrolia CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 3.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 54.4% of them were boys, and 45.6% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 80.8% of the Petrolia CISD total enrollment.

Petrolia CISD roughly covers schools within Clay County with its main office in Petrolia.

Among the two schools in Petrolia CISD, Petrolia Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 266 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
