Enrollment Analysis: multiracial students comprised 1.9% of Olney ISD schools' student body in 2021-22 school year

There were 13 multiracial students enrolled in Olney ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 7.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Olney ISD schools welcomed 698 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 1.9% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Olney ISD roughly covers schools within Young County and has a main office in Olney.

Among the three schools in Olney ISD schools, Olney Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of seven students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
