4.3% of Wichita County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Wichita County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,772 people out of the 129,419 living in Wichita County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Wichita County has increased compared to the 4.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Wichita County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 62,134 people who had a job during that time, 5,692 were employed in the Armed Forces and 56,442 belonged to the civilian labor force.
