There were 128 students enrolled in Prairie Valley ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 12.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.8% of them were girls, and 49.2% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 75.8% of the Prairie Valley ISD total enrollment.

Prairie Valley ISD roughly covers schools within Montague County with its main office in Nocona.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
