There were 97 white students enrolled in Prairie Valley ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 19.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Prairie Valley ISD schools welcomed 128 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 75.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Prairie Valley ISD roughly covers schools within Montague County and has a main office in Nocona.

Prairie Valley High School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 97 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
