There were 292 white students enrolled in Saint Jo ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Saint Jo ISD schools welcomed 345 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 84.6% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Saint Jo ISD roughly covers schools within Montague County and has a main office in St. Jo.

Among the two schools in Saint Jo ISD schools, Saint Jo Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 171 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
