Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.4% of Wichita Falls ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 57 American Indian students enrolled in Wichita Falls ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 11.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Wichita Falls ISD schools welcomed 13,296 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.4% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Wichita Falls ISD roughly covers schools within Wichita County and has a main office in Wichita Falls.

Among the 25 schools in Wichita Falls ISD schools, Rider High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 10 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
