How many American Indian students were enrolled in City View ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 13 American Indian students enrolled in City View ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 13.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that City View ISD schools welcomed 1,133 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 1.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

City View ISD roughly covers schools within Wichita County and has a main office in Wichita Falls.

Among the three schools in City View ISD schools, City View Junior/Senior High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of seven students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
