There were 192 students enrolled in Stonewall County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 3.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Stonewall County had the seventh lowest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that white students made up 66.7% of the student body, the largest percentage in Stonewall County schools, followed by Hispanic students at 30.2%, Asian students at 2.6% and Black students at 0.5%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
