1,655 students enrolled in Jack County schools during 2023-24 school year

There were 1,655 students enrolled in Jack County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Jack County had the 80th lowest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that white students made up 69.3% of the student body, the largest percentage in Jack County schools, followed by Hispanic students at 27.2%, American Indian students at 0.5%, Black students at 0.3%, Asian students at 0.2%, Pacific Islander students at 0.1% and multiracial students at 2.4%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
