Small nonfarm businesses in nine Texas counties may apply for low-interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
North Texas E-News reported that the SBA can assist those businesses affected by the October 2019 freeze or excessive moisture in November.
Business owners in Clay, Archer, Jack, Montague and Wichita counties are eligible to seek assistance in response to the freeze that occurred Oct. 11-12, 2019, while those in Lamar, Delta, Fannin and Red River counties could qualify for moisture damage relief.
“SBA eligibility covers both the economic impacts on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers that have suffered agricultural production losses caused by the disasters and businesses directly impacted by the disasters,” Tanya Garfield, director of the SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West, told North Texas E-News.
Applicants could receive up to $2 million in aid. The deadline to apply is Feb. 16, 2021. To apply or to learn more, go to the SBA website.
