There were 804 students enrolled in Nocona ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.2% of them were boys, and 45.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 63.9% of the Nocona ISD total enrollment.

Nocona ISD roughly covers schools within Montague County with its main office in Nocona.

Among the three schools in Nocona ISD, Nocona Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 366 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
